Mike Spence

BSc (Hons), CISSP

Mike SpenceMike has over 25 years’ international management experience in the IT industry. This has been gained in New Zealand, UK, Australia and Switzerland.

Prior to the formation of deCipher, Mike's roles included the 'Coordination of Computerisation in the Criminal Justice System' (CCCJS) in the UK, and as head of NZ Police IT Security Systems for the APEC meeting of 21 world leaders held in Auckland, New Zealand. This was the largest security event of its type ever held in the southern hemisphere. During his role as a senior IT manager with the NZ Police, Mike established the northern region computer forensics department.

Mike, who holds an Honours Degree in Computer Science and is a certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), is a member of the New Zealand Information Security Forum, the New Zealand Security Association and the New Zealand Institute of Directors. He holds Encase and FTK forensic software certification and is guest lecturer in computer forensics at the University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology.


Sue Spence

MSc, BSc (Hons), Diploma in Accounting, Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society

Sue SpenceSue has extensive international experience as an information and statistical consultant, having worked in New Zealand, UK, Switzerland, Australia and Luxembourg.

Prior to the formation of deCipher, her consultancy roles included undertaking company research with the European Union, data mining and statistical analysis in the banking, publishing and marketing industries, and clinical trials analysis with major pharmaceutical companies.

Sue holds a First Class Hons degree in Applied Statistics, a Masters degree in Information Studies and a Diploma in Accounting. She is a Fellow of The Royal Statistical Society and a member of the Association of Football Statisticians.

Sue is a highly skilled computer forensics analyst holding certification in the leading computer forensic tools Encase and FTK.
